East Bengal are closing in on the signing of Hector Yuste on a free transfer. The centre-back most recently played for their arch-rivals Mohun Bagan SG, but left upon the expiry of his contract.
The defender has been available on the market for weeks, and is now in advanced talks with East Bengal, with a one-year contract on the table, with the option to extend further.

The 36-year-old was quite impressive in his last season with Mohun Bagan SG, helping them win the ISL Shield in the final game of the season against Mumbai City FC.
Now, it appears as if he could be the sixth foreigner for the Torch Bearers provided he can agree terms with the club. The other foreign players at East Bengal so far are club captain Cleiton Silva, Dimitrios Diamantakos, Madih Talal, Saul Crespo and Hijazi Maher.
They are eager to reinforce their defence, and Yuste would be a great signing given his ISL-proven resume, and his experience of playing for a winning team already.
