Newcastle United have reached an agreement with Leicester City for the transfer of Harvey Barnes. The player will be making the move to Tyneside for a fee around €40 million, and he will undergo medical tests to finalise the move very soon.
Negotiations have been going on for the last few weeks and there is finally an agreement between the two teams for the transfer. Barnes is keen on returning to the Premier League and playing with Newcastle, especially after they qualified for the Champions League this past season.
Harvey Barnes to join Newcastle United in the coming days
The winger was one of Leicester City’s most prolific players this past season, even though they ended up relegated. He scored 13 goals and provided three assists in 40 games across all competitions. But, it was not enough to save the Foxes from the drop to the Championship.
Harvey Barnes has been with Leicester City since his academy days, and has been with the first team for four straight years after a series of loan spells. Now, he will be moving on to take the next step in his career.
He will be replacing Allan Saint-Maximin at the club, with the Frenchman close to joining Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli in the coming days.
