Harry Kane has been vocal about his desire to leave Tottenham in search of Champions League football this summer. He has also maintained that he wants to stay in England, despite wanting out of Spurs.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has been clear about the fact that they will do everything in their power to keep the striker at the club. But as per the Telegraph, Kane’s teammates believe that he will go as far as skipping training ahead of the new season to force a move.
“Harry is our player, period. No need to talk about anything else. Now is the moment for Harry to recover his energy, to rest. When he comes again, we will have time to speak. Harry’s one of the best footballers in the world, and he’s a Tottenham player,” Nuno said in his first public appearances as Tottenham coach.
The England captain most recently played in the finals of Euro 2020, coming up short against Italy. While his club future was not the priority so far, as the European Championships were the main focus for him, the tournament is over now and he can finally make a clear decision about his club future.
Manchester City are the frontrunners to sign Kane this summer, despite Tottenham setting a price tag near £150 million for their star player. No advanced negotiations have started yet, but we could be seeing Kane back in a Champions League team by the end of the summer, and it most probably will be City.
