With the assist, Harry Kane and Heung min Son have set a new record in the Premier League. They have assisted each other 37 times, which is more than any other duo in the history of the English top flight.
Kane and Son break Premier League record
The partnership between Kane and Son started to flourish under Jose Mourinho. And it has continued to be a vital part of Tottenham’s attack under Antonio Conte as well. With Harry Kane returning to his best form, his partnership with Son has started to reignite as well.
The performance against Marcelo Biela’s Leeds United showed exactly how good the two forwards are at pairing up with each other to create goals.
The previous holders of the record were Chelsea’s Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard, with 36 assists for each other. But now, they are in second place behind their rivals’ dynamic duo.
Harry Kane acknowledged their new record in the post-match interview at Leeds:
“We’ve been playing with other now for a long, long time and we just understand each other’s games well.
“When I drop deep, Sonny knows where to run and hopefully I’m able to put him in and you saw that for the last goal.
“We enjoy playing together. The most important thing is the team though and this was another fantastic display by everyone.”
