HarmonyOS 2.0 first debuts on Huawei phones arriving in 2021

Huawei has confirmed officially that they are going to release a new version of HarmonyOS and a large wave of new products equipped with the OS will follow. According to the source, the new operating system by Harmony will be called HarmonyOS 2.0 at the 2020 HDC Develop Conference on 10th September. The company claims that the first phone with this new operating system will launch next year.

If we compare this 2.0 version with the previous one, it will be applied to Huawei’s domestic PCs, watches, tablets, cars, and other IoT products. Surprisingly, the rumor brings up Richard Yu himself, the company’s CEO. According to him, Harmony OS will become the worldwide operating system in the future as its relation with Google is over and the smartphone giant focuses on developing it as early as 2021 to a variety of devices under its AIoT ecosystem.

After a long gap, the upgraded version of Harmony 1.0 will be launching next year with the respective device and the company is thinking of several ways to deal with the paining US chip ban. The company’s CEO said that, due to the rapid increase of Huawei’s chip supply in the US, they could not concentrate on the previous version’s problem, but now they are thinking about the solution.

The company CEO has made it clear that Huawei Mate 40 will be equipped with the new generation Kirin 1000 chips, which will provide more powerful 5G connectivity, more powerful AI processing capabilities, and more powerful CPUs and GPUs.

At present, Huawei has officially announced HMS Core 5.0, it has the capability to cover surfaces in seven major areas, including- App services, Graphics, Media, Artificial Intelligence, security, system, and more comprehensively open Huawei’s ‘core-dive-cloud’ capabilities. It is expected that the first smartwatch that running on HarmonyOS will make its debut in the coming year itself.
