Halo Infinite to get more playlists and PvP modes by this year-end

By the end of the year, 343 Industries intends to offer more playlists and PvP modes for Halo Infinite. Fiesta, Tactical Slayer (SWAT), and Free-For-All are among the modes available. They will not, however, be available in time for Halo Infinite’s official campaign launch date of December 8.

On Twitter, 343 community director John Junyszek disclosed the developer’s plans. He also notes that because it was the most requested game type, a Social Slayer playlist with numerous versions of the model is being built on.

“Our goal for Events is to try new modes before adding to playlists,” explains Junyszek. “We’ll monitor playlist health after the 3 additions above and adjust our offering if needed, but we’re excited to make these updates before the holidays.”

So far, Halo Infinite’s multiplayer has gotten mainly excellent feedback, despite early complaints of its Battle Pass and advancement system. Players have complained that the Battle Pass growth is far too sluggish and that XP progression is restricted by completing tasks, with no additional incentives to do exceptionally well in a battle.

However, 343 has made several modifications since the introduction of the multiplayer, such as giving players additional XP for their first six matches of the day.

Events have also been condemned, as seen by the latest Tenrai event. Progression was also restricted to accomplishing certain event tasks, and 343 indicated that players are not expected to finish the whole event pass during its initial week, since it is scheduled to return five more times throughout this first season. 343 will continue to make modifications and enhance the game over time, including the addition of new weaponry.

“Impressively, it manages to give nostalgic veterans the best of what they remember Halo multiplayer feeling like while also smoothly introducing new players to the joys of Spartan combat.”
