Comics Meet Culture
Day 2 delivered standout moments, including a session celebrating 45 years of Amar Chitra Katha—India’s iconic visual storytelling brand. The launch of World of Butterfingers Vol. 2 by Khyrunnisa A and Abhijeet Kini, alongside climate-focused indie comic Where We Left Off, showed homegrown creators are tackling both nostalgia and urgent global themes.
Legendary Archie Comics creator Bill Golliher led live sketching sessions, offering fans insider storytelling insights that bridged generations of comic readers. According to Comic Con India’s official site, such creator interactions remain core to the festival’s community-building ethos.
Cosplay Championship Steals the Show
The Indian Championship of Cosplay 2026: Guwahati Qualifier crowned Arshy Deori’s Nikke portrayal as champion, securing ₹50,000 and a national qualifier spot. Competitors brought characters spanning Demon Slayer, Spy × Family, Genshin Impact, and DC’s Red Hood—proof that anime and gaming fandoms are thriving in the Northeast.

Gaming Zones and Live Energy
Interactive experiences ruled the floor: Crunchyroll’s recreated Spy x Family room, RedBull Gaming Ground, NODWIN Gaming Challenger Arena, and Logitech’s Race for Real simulator kept queues bustling. Gaming YouTuber Sc0ut (Tanmay Singh) headlined a fan meet at the Royal Challenge booth’s VR cricket zone.
Musically, conscious rapper EPR Iyer delivered a genre-bending set honoring Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington, while stand-up comedian Anirban Dasgupta and local band Once Fly Rock’s tribute to Zubeen Garg added regional flavor. As TechnoSports previously covered, esports and pop culture convergence is reshaping India’s entertainment landscape.
What the Leaders Said
“The love and energy from fans across Assam and the entire Northeast truly made this first edition special,” said Shefali Johnson, CEO of Comic Con India. “From cosplayers who travelled from neighboring states to families bonding over comics they’ve enjoyed for generations—every moment reminded us why this community is so extraordinary.”
Akshat Rathee, Co-founder of NODWIN Gaming, added: “Guwahati Comic Con is the beginning of a long-term commitment to a region rich with creativity and talent.”

The Road Ahead
With Guwahati’s success, Delhi Comic Con (December 5-7, 2025) is next. For Northeast fans, this inaugural edition wasn’t just an event—it was validation that their region’s vibrant fandom finally has a home.
