But early reactions to the full trailer suggest many viewers are now more open to Joshi’s version of Annu—especially since Season 5 seems to spotlight the elder son’s growing responsibilities and emotional arc.  ![](https://images.technosports.co.in/2026/05/Gullak-Season-5-Trailer-Out-1024x557.jpg) *Anant V Joshi as Annu* ### Key Cast For Gullak Season 5 | Character | Actor | Notes | | --- | --- | --- | | Santosh Mishra (Papa) | Jameel Khan | Government employee, pragmatic father | | Shanti Mishra (Mummy) | Geetanjali Kulkarni | Emotional core of the household | | Anand “Annu” Mishra | Anant V Joshi | Eldest son; newly recast | | Aman Mishra | Harsh Mayar | Younger son, still finding his path | | Bittu ki Mummy | Sunita Rajwar | Iconic neighbour, gossip & comic relief | | Supporting roles | Gopal Dutt, Manuj Sharma, Helly Shah | Extended Mishra‑verse | ## Themes Hinted At In Season 5 From the **Gullak Season 5 trailer**, a few clear thematic threads emerge: 1. **Growing Up & Moving Out** Annu’s arc looks central: job pressures, savings, possibly moving into his own place, and learning that adulthood is more EMI than excitement.  2. **Middle‑Class Upward Mobility** The “let’s buy a house” dream becomes a catalyst for new conflicts—down payments, loans, location fights, and the fear of biting off more than they can chew.  3. **Change vs Comfort** Wi‑Fi, paint, and new furniture are cosmetic; the real question is whether the Mishras can change without losing the very “feel” that makes their home special. 4. **Everyday Humour Amid Anxiety** As always, stress is filtered through humour—battles over fans vs cooler, power cuts, job interviews, and money talk all stay funny, even when they sting. ![](https://images.technosports.co.in/2026/05/Gullak-Season-5-1024x556.jpg) ## Gullak So Far: Seasons, Style & Legacy Gullak began in 2019 and quickly became one of India’s most loved slice‑of‑life shows, telling the story of a modest **North Indian middle‑class family** through tiny, deeply relatable moments.  ### Seasons & Timeline | Season | Year | Platform | Focus | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | 1 | 2019 | Sony LIV | Introduces Mishras & narrator‑gullak | | 2 | 2021 | Sony LIV | Deeper family conflicts, Annu’s job track | | 3 | 2022 | Sony LIV | Exams, job insecurity, societal pressure | | 4 | 2024 | Sony LIV | Maturity, evolving relationships | | 5 | 2026 | Sony LIV | New home dreams, new Annu, grown‑up stakes | The show’s hallmark has always been **soft nostalgia, small‑town detail, and tightly written emotional payoffs** rather than big plot twists—Season 5 looks set to continue that tradition while raising the life‑stakes for the Mishras. ## Gullak Season 5: What To Expect From June 5 Putting it together, the **Gullak Season 5 trailer** suggests: - A more **mature, responsibility‑heavy** phase for Annu and Aman - A focus on the **financial and emotional reality** of chasing bigger middle‑class dreams - Plenty of old‑school Mishra humour, neighbour drama, and nok‑jhok to keep the tone light even when the subject is serious - A test of whether audiences accept **Anant V Joshi** as the “new Annu” while still feeling like this is the same family they’ve loved for four seasons ![](https://images.technosports.co.in/2026/05/Gullak-Season-5-Trailer-1024x554.jpg) If the season delivers what the trailer promises—change, warmth, and grounded writing—Gullak may strengthen its case as one of TVF and Sony LIV’s most enduring shows.
