Grab your popcorn, not your controller — yet. Rockstar has confirmed that **“Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look (GTA VI**) **“** will premiere on Netflix on **Thursday, August 27**, giving fans a fresh, longer glimpse of Leonida before the game’s big November launch. It’s an unusual move for Rockstar, and it signals just how massive this launch is shaping up to be.

## What’s Actually Happening in GTA VI?

The extended look debuts on **Netflix at 3 p.m. ET**, then rolls out wider a few hours later on the **official Rockstar YouTube channel and the GTA VI website at 9 p.m. ET**, the same day. Two platforms, two premieres, one very hyped day for the [Grand Theft Auto](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Theft_Auto) franchise.

## Why Netflix, Why Now?

Rockstar rarely partners with streaming giants for marketing drops, so choosing Netflix as the first stop is a telling move. It puts GTA VI in front of casual viewers who might not typically watch a game trailer on YouTube — a smart play as anticipation builds toward the November 19 release. ## What to Expect From the Footage

While Rockstar hasn’t revealed exact content, “extended look” suggests deeper gameplay context beyond the cinematic trailers fans have seen so far — think mission structure, world detail, and maybe a better sense of Jason and Lucia’s story arc across Leonida’s beaches, swamps, and neon-lit streets.

## The Bottom Line

Mark your calendar twice: **3 p.m. ET for Netflix**, **9 p.m. ET for YouTube**. Either way, August 27 is shaping up to be one of the biggest gaming marketing moments of the year — a fitting appetizer before November 19.
