Grey Sloan Memorial is reopening its doors — but if you’re a Netflix binge-watcher, you’ll need real patience this time. Here’s exactly when Season 23 arrives, what’s changing at the hospital, and why international fans are shut out entirely.

## When Does Season 23 Premiere on ABC?

Season 23 returns to its familiar Thursday-night slot on **October 15, 2026**, with a full-length run of roughly 18–22 episodes expected to wrap around May 2027.

## Grey’s Anatomy: Big Cast Shakeups This Season

The new season isn’t just a new number — it’s a real shift for the show:

- **Kevin McKidd (Owen Hunt)** and **Kim Raver (Teddy Altman)** have both exited following their characters’ move to Paris.
- **James Wolk** (*Mad Men*, *Watchmen*) joins as Seth Norton, an arrogant surgeon-turned-businessman running a rival private clinic.
- **Harry Shum Jr. (Dr. Benson “Blue” Kwan)** returns despite his controversial firing last season, teasing a redemption arc.

## When Will It Hit Netflix? (Prediction Table)

Netflix has consistently added past seasons roughly a month after the ABC finale, in June:

| Season | Netflix US Release |
| --- | --- |
| Season 18 | June 25, 2022 |
| Season 19 | June 17, 2023 |
| Season 20 | June 29, 2024 |
| Season 21 | June 14, 2025 |
| Season 22 | June 6, 2026 |
| **Season 23 (predicted)** | **June 2027** |

## What About Canada and Other Countries?

**Canada** typically gets new seasons later — usually between September and November, just ahead of the next season’s premiere. Expect Season 23 around **September–October 2027**.

**Everywhere else** (UK, Australia, Europe, Latin America), Netflix isn’t an option at all. Disney pulled international streaming rights back in 2022, so *Grey’s Anatomy* now streams exclusively on Disney+ under the Star banner internationally.
