The GPD Win 4 handheld console has been updated by GPD with better specifications and AMD Ryzen 7840U & 7640U APUs. Prior to this, GPD released the first version of Windows 4 that was powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 6800U APU with Radeon “RDNA 2” integrated graphics.
Although the new model uses a similar design language, the onboard features are significantly different. Ryzen 7 7840U or Ryzen 5 7640U are the two APU options available for the GPD Win 4 2023. The Radeon 780M and Radeon 780M iGPUs on each APU are based on the RDNA 3 graphics architecture.
Aside from APUs, the GPD Win 4 2023 handheld gaming consoles will offer various memory possibilities, depending on how the handheld is used.
The most RAM available is 64 GB, which is excessive for a mobile device. Furthermore, one important update is the addition of LPDDR5x-7500 memory, which is an improvement over the previous model, which used memory at 6400 MT/s. The GPD Win 4 2023 will also be available with up to 4 TB of PCIe 4.0 storage.
In terms of display, the handheld has a six-inch screen with 1080p resolution and support for refresh rates ranging from 40 to 60Hz. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protects the screen from accidental drops. Furthermore, every aficionado will notice the handheld’s similarities to the renowned Sony PSP.
The handheld has a sliding screen mechanism and a physical keyboard underneath, allowing it to be utilised for a variety of purposes. The GPD Win 4 2023 handheld game console is available for financing on Indiegogo. The device will be available in August 2023.
