The Bat is finally back. “[Batman](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt14681596/): Caped Crusader” Season 2 has a confirmed premiere date, and fans of the show’s moody, noir-drenched take on Gotham won’t have to wait much longer to dive back in.

All 10 episodes drop simultaneously on Prime Video this Friday, July 31, 2026 — nearly two years after Season 1 first premiered. That’s a longer gap than most fans expected, since the season was originally slated for a 2025 release before quietly slipping to this summer.

Season 2 leans further into [Gotham’s](https://technosports.co.in/)underbelly, introducing fresh takes on some of Batman’s most iconic rogues. The Joker’s arrival is an especially big deal — teased at the end of Season 1 and now confirmed, voiced by “House of the Dragon” actor Matthew Needham. Edward Nygma (the Riddler), Scarecrow, and the Mad Hatter round out the new lineup of threats facing a more seasoned, “year one-and-a-half” version of the Dark Knight.

The series comes from an unmistakable creative pedigree — executive producers Bruce Timm, J.J. Abrams, and Matt Reeves are steering this reimagining of a young Bruce Wayne set against a 1930s/40s-inspired Gotham. Bruce Timm is best known as the head producer behind Batman: The Animated Series, which ran from 1992 to 1995, and Caped Crusader has been widely treated as a spiritual successor to that beloved classic rather than a simple retread.

If you haven’t caught up on Season 1 yet, it’s worth doing so before diving in — the story threads run deep, and the emotional payoff depends on that setup.
