Google has made Bard AI finally available for early access and the company announced on its Keyword blog that access to generative AI will begin today. However, it is currently limited, which means that the public does not have full access. If you’re interested, there’s a signup form you can use to get on a waitlist.

In terms of what is currently available with Bard AI, users can write down prompts and receive responses from the Bard AI. According to Google, users can get answers to questions, get ideas, have things outlined to them, get a simplified answer to otherwise complex questions, and so on. And it is very similar to ChatGPT and other generative AI tools.

To avoid any misunderstandings or controversies, Google has stated that Bard AI may not always have the correct answer for you.

However, the company has put in place some “guardrails” to prevent such errors from becoming common. For example, by clicking “view other drafts,” users can see different versions of the same AI response. If the AI is asked the same question again, it will generate a new response; however, users will get to see three of those responses without having to ask the question again.

Google was also quick to point out that Bard AI will not replace Google Search, as the company sees the new AI as a supplement to an existing service. As a result, the responses will include a “Google it” button, allowing the user to simply conduct a traditional search if they want a proper answer.

Last but not least, Google has also mentioned that Bard won’t be able to have lengthy conversations and that users will be able to rate the responses and report anything questionable or offensive if it happens. Only English-language versions of Bard are offered in the United States and the United Kingdom. Google intends to open up access to more areas, but no timeframe is provided.
