Google has slowly integrated into our lives and now almost everything is connected to our Google account. From photos and contacts to various apps, everything is related to our Google account. However, there is an issue that many of us face. Due to the ever-increasing reliant on multiple apps and backups on Google, the free Google storage plan of 15 GB often becomes full and it becomes difficult for us to upload our photos and videos to Google Photos or Drive and even the emails get bounced because of this storage full issue.

However, Google has now brought in a big relief for everybody. They have announced a free upgrade of the Google storage plan from 15GB to 1TB for all the Google Workspace individual accounts. Google wants to promote more effective communication and collaboration and with the added storage space you can now easily store all your important data and files and also work together using Google docs, etc.

How to upgrade your Google storage plan to 1TB from 15GB?

Although the exact date and time are still unknown, every Google Workspace Individual account will be automatically upgraded from their existing 15 GB of Google storage to 1 TB as they start rolling out this plan. You don’t have to do anything on your own.

Google announced in a blog post: “Soon every Google Workspace Individual account will come with 1 TB of secure cloud storage. You don’t have to lift a finger to get the upgraded storage: Every account will be automatically upgraded from their existing 15 GB of storage to 1 TB as we roll this out.” The blog post further adds that you will be able to “store over 100 file types in Drive, including PDFs, CAD files and images,” and also “collaborate on and edit Microsoft Office files without converting them.”
