Google Pixel 9a Leak: Pricing, Specs, and More Revealed

The Google Pixel 9a is expected to have the same size as both, the Pixel 9 and the Pixel 9 Pro, a decent-sized 6.3-inch Actua display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. However, leaked renders hint at a different design direction that may see Google remove the camera bump and have the camera sit flush with the body itself. Images shared by Android Headlines also reveal a body that looks like it will be more rigid, with rounded edges.

The Pixel 9a should be first up to the plate with the Tensor G4 chipset, 8GB of RAM, and up to 128GB/256GB of storage. Previous leaks also indicate a 5,000mAh battery with 18W charging, which would be 11% larger than the Pixel 8a’s battery. This does make sense given the increased size of the device itself, in all dimensions.

As for the connectivity, there are suggestions that Pixel 9a could feature the Exynos Modem 5300 modem, which is an older but stable modem already present on the Pixel 8 series. This modem may be good enough, but the Exynos Modem 5400 featured on the Pixel 9 series is newer, more efficient, and supports better high-end 5G features.

But for the vast majority of users, it should provide dependable network performance sufficient for general use. As per the leaked specifications, it is also expected to feature a 48-megapixel primary camera, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 13-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.

The Pixel 9a’s dimensions have increased slightly due to the larger display, now measuring 154.7 x 73.3 x 8.9mm and weighing 186g. Despite the larger size, Google has managed to make the Pixel 9a lighter than its predecessor, the Pixel 8a, which weighed 188g. Lastly, the Pixel 9a is expected to be priced at $499 (around ₹42,000), the same price as the Pixel 8a. In India, the Pixel 8a was launched at ₹52,999 for the 8+128GB variant and ₹59,999 for the 8+256GB model.
