Google Pixel 9a Design Revealed: Early Images Show New Look, Possible 2024 Launch

Google hasn’t even officially debuted the Pixel 9 series in many markets yet, but renders of what could be called the Pixel 8a are already landing and you know they look nothing like Google’s latest flagships. Tipster has released news that the upcoming Pixel 9a could land before we’d initially suspected, with an estimated launch window suggesting it might come about by the end of 2024.

The pictures, which were posted on X before being removed, reveal that the Pixel 9a features a notably smaller camera bump compared to the Pixel 9 series. The smaller bump means that it’s possible the Pixel 9a could be thinner than its flagships. It also shows rounded corners of the device and a two-sensor rear camera set up with an LED flash.

The timing for this is interesting, as Google introduced the Pixel 9 series back in August, which could mean we may see it hit a little earlier than usual with the launch typically taking place around October. It appears Samsung may be looking to enter the market even sooner in an attempt to try and secure a head start.

The Pixel 9a is expected to be available in four colors, including silver. While these details are exciting, it’s important to approach them with caution until officially confirmed. Given that the Pixel 8a was announced at Google’s I/O keynote, it’s possible that the company might use a similar event for the unveiling of the Pixel 9a.
