Google announced the Pixel 9 Pro Fold during its Made by Google event, marking it as a second-generation foldable smartphone. Google launched the first-generation Pixel Fold last year, which was not available in India but this time Google will bring its foldable smartphone to Indian consumers. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is all set to go on sale in India from the first minute of August 14.

The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is priced at ₹1,72,999 and will be available in a single variant. The phone is available in Obsidian and Porcelain colors. The phone will be sold on Flipkart, Reliance Digital, and Croma although details about availability or pre-order are not shared. Google is also launching three walk-in service centers in India in New Delhi, Bengaluru, and Mumbai with the first two opening now and the Mumbai store to follow later. These centers will also provide repair service for any Google Pixel model purchased in India, even if it wasn’t purchased in India.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold, meanwhile is taller and slimmer than its predecessor with a small 6.3-inch cover display coupled to an expansive 8-inch Super Actua Flex inner screen. Google claims it is “the largest display ever on a phone.” The external screen has a resolution of 1080 x 2424 pixels with a pixel density of 422 ppi, achieving peak brightness levels of up to 2700 nits.
The internal OLED display, with a resolution of 2076 x 2152 pixels and 373 ppi, offers a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and supports HDR, with protection from Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold measures 5.1mm when unfolded and 10.5mm when folded, making it thinner than the OnePlus Open.
Under the hood, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is powered by the G4 Tensor chip, paired with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It features an upgraded camera system, including a 48-megapixel wide camera, a 10.5-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 10.8-megapixel telephoto sensor with 5x optical zoom and up to 20x Super Res Zoom. Both external and internal cameras are equipped with a 10-megapixel dual-PD sensor.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold has an IPX8 water resistance rating as well as a new hinge composed of stainless steel and aerospace-grade aluminum alloy.
