Google Pay's NFC-Based Card Payments Option Rolling Out in India

Some days ago, Samsung had announced its Samsung Pay card facility in Samsung pay. With this technology, anyone who uses Samsung Pay can add his/her credit card, debit card details on the phone and that’s it. That person can do variable card payments just by Samsung Pay Card.

Now Google is following this path. Google Pay is a very well known and well-reputed online payment application. Now Google has upgraded this app and Google Pay in India is rolling out a new feature where users can add their NFC-powered credit cards and debit cards as a payment method with the existing bank account option. This is nothing but a Pay Card system by Google. We can easily make different kinds of credit or debit card payments without carrying that particular card with us. The offering that was announced at Google for India last year to enable secure online payments via Google Pay using credit and debit cards.

As reported by Android policy, Users need to verify their cards by entering the OTP they get from the existing bank to add their card to the app. Once registered, there is nothing to do more. Google Pay brings tap and pay functionality with this application, making touchless payments using a smartphone.

Google has also created a support page, by which a user can easily understand how to add a debit or credit card to the Google Pay app. There is an option to add a card that is available under the  Payment methods section of the settings menu. But, Card support is also limited to Visa cards issued by Axis and State Bank of India (SBI).

“WE STARTED ROLLING OUT TOKENIZED CARDS EARLIER THIS YEAR ON GOOGLE PAY, WHICH HELPS USERS MAKE DEBIT OR CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS THROUGH A SECURE TOKEN ATTACHED TO THEIR PHONE WHICH MAKES IT MORE SECURE AND THEREBY KEEPS THEIR CARD DETAILS SAFE. IT IS ALSO MUCH MORE USER FRIENDLY. FOR EXAMPLE, YOU CAN TAP-TO-PAY ON NFC-ENABLED POS TERMINALS OR MAKE ONLINE PAYMENTS WITHOUT GETTING REDIRECTED TO 3D SECURE SITES. WE ARE ROLLING THIS OUT FOR USERS OF VISA CARDS ON AXIS BANK AND SBI CREDIT CARDS, WITH MORE ISSUERS COMING SOON.”

Google has announced the upcoming Pay-Card technology in the last year. Now Google is rolling out these new NFC-Based Card Payments in India. Online payments will be much easier and safe and secure with the security of Google itself.
