Google Introduces Dedicated Gemini AI App for iPhone, Tailored for iOS Users

Now, Gemini capabilities were already functioning in the Google app but very much as a standalone feature that did not integrate into the iPhone ecosystem too seamlessly. The new separate app aims to improve the overall experience with live Gemini conversations and enable iPhone users access to unique iOS features including Dynamic Island Integration. It makes Google a big player in the AI space, taking on Apple and Microsoft with its AI-a-plenty.

By providing text or voice input options for prompts, the app helps increase engagement, and with Gemini Extensions support allowing instantaneous interactions to show on your Lock Screen or Dynamic Island, it takes the experience even further. The standalone app ensures that users no longer have to switch back to the main app for any sort of AI interaction giving it a seamless experience.

The Gemini AI app itself is free to download, but anyone looking for some more advanced features can follow the Google One AI premium plan at $18.99 per month. Premium members unlock the 1.5 Pro model, which provides more capabilities, a million token context window for managing many interactions at once, and improved performance.

This is accessed conveniently for users by logging in with your Google account. The Gemini AI app is also now available on the App Store and it’s slowly rolling out across markets from the UK, US, Australia, and Philippines expanding to anywhere very soon.
