This year’s Google I/O conference witnessed a lot of announcements and developments that the search giant is working on. One such change that was announced was the new look of Android Auto that will be coming to users later this summer. The highlight of this update is that the UI will now be able to adapt to the various car screen sizes and orientations with a default split-screen look.

Google is trying to give drivers fast and easier controls:

With Android Auto, drivers will get easier access to Maps, Messaging, and media controls. Google Assistant, notifications and the apps library will also be easily accessible now on the dock. It will, however, be dependent on if your car has a portrait or widescreen display.

Assistant will now be suggesting quick replies to conversations, another option that has been added is the option to share your ETA to any of your contacts.

Same Controls

Cars that have in-built Android Automotive OS like Volvo, Ford, and GMC’s newer models will get additional benefits when the car is parked. These benefits include a web browser and the ability to watch YouTube videos, Tubi, and Epix Now platforms on your display.
