PSG have confirmed that Goncalo Ramos is now contracted to the club until 2028, turning his initial loan deal from Benfica into a permanent one. The Portugal international signed for the Parisians this summer after interest from the Premier League as well.
However, he has been unable to feature regularly, with only eight starts thus far, in which he has scored two goals. He has been competing for game time with Randal Kolo Muani, who signed for the French giants from Eintracht Frankfurt, and has scored thrice in 11 games.
Goncalo Ramos signs permanently for PSG until 2028
The former Benfica man had a brilliant 22/23, where he scored 27 goals in 47 games for his former club. His hat-trick in the World Cup also helped him rise to fame, resulting in another big money move for the Portuguese giants this summer.
PSG will pay €65 million up-front for the striker, while €15 million is available in the form of add-ons.
With Kylian Mbappe and Kolo Muani both available for Luis Enrique, the coach has been forced to omit Ramos on several occasions. However, if Mbappe truly leaves at the end of the season, Goncalo Ramos could find his way into the starting line-up much more easily.
For now, he will have to make the most of the opportunities he gets and acclimatise to his new environment and teammates before the starts become more regular.
