Goncalo Guedes will be making the move to the Premier League in the coming days. An agreement has been reached between Wolves and Valencia for the winger, and he will be completing his medical for the move in the coming days.
The transfer fee for the Portuguese player will be around €32 million including add-ons. And once the formalities have been completed, the deal will officially be announced by the two clubs.
Goncalo Guedes to join Wolves in the coming days
Arsenal and Newcastle United were also in the race for the winger. But, Wolves have been able to secure a deal for yet another Portuguese talent. Last season, he scored 11 goals and provided 6 assists in La Liga and can provide a strong impact for Bruno Lage once he grows into the team.
The arrival of Goncalo Guedes has fuelled rumours for the departure of Pedro Neto. The Wolves number 7 has been quite impressive at the Molineux, and has attracted interest from some of the top clubs in the division. Arsenal in particular have been linked with his signature, and Wolves have a replacement for him in case he leaves.
But, it remains to be seen whether Wolves will be able to keep Neto for another season and have both wingers or only Guedes. Samu Castillejo has been recruited as a potential replacement for Guedes, with the Spaniard becoming the first signing for Gennaro Gattuso at the club.
