Ajay Devgn reunites with director Rohit Shetty after a record-breaking success for Singham Again. Now they are back in comedy mode yet again because Rohit Shetty has confirmed that he will be creating a Golmaal 5 to follow the two sequels to his original hit.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Rohit hinted at the timeline for the film’s release, stating, “I think before any cop film, Golmaal will be next.” This eagerly anticipated reunion will see Devgn and Shetty move from action to comedy, a transition the two are excited to tackle after their high-octane police dramas.

Golmaal 5 Confirmed: Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty Set for Comedy Return Soon

When asked about moving from intense action to light-hearted humor, Ajay Devgn explained how he manages these transitions, saying, “We’re not switching worlds between projects; we’re switching between ‘action’ and ‘cut’ on set. When the director says ‘cut,’ I can’t just keep walking around as Singham. I have to go back to normal; otherwise, you’d go insane.” The actor’s perspective highlights how the dynamic on set allows for smooth shifts in tone, even between drastically different genres.

Meanwhile, Rohit Shetty has expressed his desire to step away from cop films for a while and revisit his comedic roots. “I’ve been working on cop films non-stop since 2008. I really want to take a break and focus on something lighter, so Golmaal is coming next,” he shared. The director added that the lighter world of Golmaal provides a refreshing change, especially after the intensity of Singham Again. “After a big Singham film, I look forward to something that’s lighthearted and less worrisome,” Rohit said.

With ₹300 crores+, Singham Again is now the highest-grosser of the franchise. However, the audience still loves Golmaal, and the earlier parts – Golmaal: Fun Unlimited, Golmaal Returns, Golmaal 3, and Golmaal Again are loved for their comedy and family feel. And now the fans want to see the iconic director-actor duo chuckle back with Golmaal 5, which is expected to be another successful movie in the comedy series.
