Team Godlike Esports finished runners up in Call of Duty Mobile World Championship 2023, deliver the best performance by an Indian team on the global stage
Team GodLike, who narrowly missed out on the playoffs last year, raised the bar this year with their stellar performance. The formidable line-up, featuring Learn, Neutrino, Trunks, Abhizdada, Skullguy, and Prevail, ended their Swiss Stage with a commendable 3-1 overall score. After defeating top-ranked teams, they confidently marched into the playoffs. In what turned out to be the most-watched match of the tournament, Team GodLike triumphed over the former two-time world champion, Luminosity, in the semi-finals. However, they fell short against China’s Team Wolves in the finals, losing 2-4 but putting up a valiant fight.
The CODM World Championship hosted 16 teams from various regions including the USA, Canada, China, Singapore, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Brazil, Mexico, and Japan. The competition was divided into five stages, with the first three acting as qualifiers, the fourth being the National Championship. Team GodLike remained undefeated throughout all four stages, not losing a single game or map at stage 4, thereby asserting their dominance at the national level.
Reflecting on the team’s journey, Chetan “Kronten” Chandgude, Founder of GodLike Esports, expressed his pride in the team’s achievements. He said, “At GodLike, we always aim for excellence in esports. Our champions have displayed an unprecedented level of discipline and courage. Our goal has always been to elevate Indian esports on the global map, and we have achieved that at the World Championship.”
Learn, Captain of CODM – Team GodLike Esports, shared his experiences at the World Championship, stating, “Representing India at an international event has been a journey of immense pride and gratitude. We have come a long way, defeating numerous teams. Now that we’ve made our mark on the global esports scene, we are committed to elevating it even further.”
This significant achievement by GodLike Esports‘ Call of Duty Mobile team, already a dominant force in CoD Mobile Esports, adds another accomplishment to their illustrious legacy. This performance on the global stage is set to redefine the landscape of Indian esports in the coming years.
