Accidents have happened before Goa Boat Accident

In early June, a boat near Kinshasa, the capital of Congo, sank, killing 80 people on board. In January, a boat capsized in Lake Mai-Ndombe, killing twenty-two persons. These kinds of things happen an often in the Congo. The boats are overflowing with passengers and belongings here. Additionally, life jackets are not even provided for the passengers.

As the waves increase in such a scenario, the boat capssizes. The rescue mission gets more challenging after that. This accident was the result of the same thing. There was more luggage than the boat could hold. The boat sank once waves began to move through the calm waters. According to one of the accident survivors, the boat slanted after the waves began to move after everything had been calm before. The individuals atop the boat began plunging into the ocean in such a scenario, and eventually the whole vessel sank. The precise death toll may not be known for at least three days, according to one official.
