The need for semiconductors isn’t stopping just yet as even though we are still experiencing chip shortage because of the insane demand, the semiconductor sales has been on the rise. Thanks to the need of chips in almost all sectors these days, as we become more autonomous, the demand of semiconductors won’t stop.

Recently, Digitimes have reported that the global semiconductor industry posted July sales of awhopping US$45.4 billion, up by 2.1% sequentially, according to Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA).

If you see growth in terms of year-on-year revenue, there you see a 29% increase than the US$35.2 billion generated during the same period in 2020.

“Global semiconductor sales remained strong in July, with robust demand across all major regional markets and semiconductor product categories,” said John Neuffer, SIA president and CEO. “Chip production and shipments have reached all-time highs in recent months as the industry works to address sustained high demand.”

In terms of year-on-year sales increase here are the growth in various markets: Europe (38%), Asia Pacific/All Other (30.9%), China (28.9%), the Americas (26.8%), and Japan (20.9%).
