Glazers name their price to sell Manchester United

Manchester United fans have never been very approving of the Glazers, who own the club. And the European Super League only brought about more angst from the supporters of the club, who demanded them to leave.

The extent of the protest included them coming to the team’s training complex and preventing entry for the players in order to make their voices heard.

To that end, reports indicate that the Glazers are looking for a sum worth £3.5-4 billion to even consider selling the club. They acquired it in 2005, for £790 million and have been in charge since.

No middle Eastern investor is apparently interested in taking over the club right now. There was the rumour of Connor McGregor teasing the possibility of buying Manchester United, but it is most likely something to be taken with a pinch of salt and in good humour.

The 16 years in charge of the club have seen fans protesting against the Glazers time and time again, but none of the ones that have happened before have been of the stature that we have seen in the last few days.

While vice chairman Ed Woodward did say he would be resigning at the end of the season, the same freedom does not apply to the Glazers. They, in all likelihood, will only be able to let go of the club when they are able to find someone to sell it to and given the current financial climate, there is a slim chance of anybody coughing up a multi-billion pound deal.
