Daniel Craig’s ‘Glass Onion: Knives Out‘ sequel has been worth $450 million. Netflix has bought the rights to Knives Out 2 and Knives Out 3 penned by Rian Johnson. Daniel Craig is just set to appear in his role as Southern-friend detective Benoit Blanc who is set to investigate a new set of strange on the streaming service. Lionsgate has distributed, the original film just grossed $311 million for a budget of just $40 million earning Johnson an Oscar nomination for the original screenplay.
After the eye-popping deal that has worth close to half of a billion dollars, that’s quite important to keep in mind along with the figure that contains the budgets for both movies as well as buyouts for the folks into the backend dealing such as Craig and Johnson latter that will produce the sequels with his longtime friend Ram Bergman.
This was really surprising news, we are assuming Lionsgate was counting on distributing the Knives Our sequel, but like Deadline reports, the first movie was bought by Johnson and Bergman, who just made a single-picture deal along with MRC that spread the film via Lionsgate. The producers become free to shop for the sequel elsewhere, and they currently held such discreet auctions reach down to Apple, Amazon, and Netflix.
Glass Onion: Knives Out Cast
Johnson has ended the writing of the sequels, and Knives Out 2 is just slated to start filming on 28th June in Greece. We are expecting, soon the franchise will declare the cast announcement. It will be better if we see one of the actors from ‘The Brothers Bloom’ like Mark Ruffalo, Adrien Brody, Rachel Weisz or Rinko Kikuchi.
However, in the main suspects, we will see Janelle Monae, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, Kate Hudson, and Dave Bautista will appear in the lead roles. In the supporting section, we may see Ethan Hawke, Jackie Hoffman, Joseph Gordon-Levett, Natasha Lyonne, Hugh Grant, Yo Yo Ma, and Stephen Sondheim.
Glass Onion: Knives Out: Release Date
Shortly, Glass Onion will play in more than 600 theaters before hits on Netflix on December 2023.
