Olivier Giroud is considering a move to Serie A next summer. As per some reports, his agent is already in talks with AS Roma about a potential move next summer.
The French international is entering the final few months of his contract at Stamford Bridge. He has been attracting the interest of multiple clubs in all over Europe.
The Chelsea striker is not a regular member of the squad right now. He was even left on the bench in Chelsea’s humiliating 5-2 defeat against West Brom on Saturday. It was 4 league games in a row in which he was not featured as a substitute as well. Giroud has made only 14 Premier League appearances and netted 4 times.
Due to his lack of game-time, the French striker is not ready to sign a new deal with the current club. It gives all the other clubs the opportunity to sign him next summer. Chelsea also wants to get rid of the 34 years old. Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is looking to add more firepower to his front line in the summer. He is considering a move for Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Braut Haaland and Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero.
AS Roma is one of the primary destinations for him. However, the Italian side is also interested in AZ Alkmaar midfielder Teun Koopmeiners. It will be interesting to see how this transfer saga goes.
