Gini Wijnaldum is close to sealing a move to Roma in the coming days. Only the final details remain to be finalised in the coming days for the player to complete his move to Italy.

The player left Liverpool at the end of the 20/21 season as a free agent, upon the expiry of his contract. He joined PSG alongside Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos and Gianluigi Donnarumma in the same transfer window. But, things haven’t gone according to plan for him.

Under Mauricio Pochettino, Gini Wijnaldum struggled to live up to his previous levels. And now, he is being moved on as PSG have found a replacement. Renato Sanches is set to join the club from Lille, with the two clubs reaching an agreement over the transfer in the last few hours.

Only the official paperwork and medical needs to be completed for the transfer to be made official. PSG want to let go of Idrissa Gana-Gueye this week as well, with the central defender nearing a return to Everton on a loan deal.
