Gigabyte voluntary recalls the sold GP-P850GM and GP-P750GM power supplies

Motherboard maker Gigabyte has recently issued a voluntary recall for the brand’s GP-P850GM and GP-P750GM power supplies. This two have been recently come in news for occasionally catching fire.

But the company has now announced that a recent breach in its security has resulted in the dealy of its RMA plans. However, according to recent sources  Gigabyte has finally put up a fully functioning RMA portal for GP-P850GM and GP-P750GM owners that desire a refund or a product replacement.

But it’s also true that not all the GP-P850GM and GP-P750GM power supplies are eligible for the refund or exchange. Firstly the GP-P850GM units must have a serial number between SN20343G031011 and SN20513G022635, while GP-P750GM units must carry a serial number between SN20243G001301 and SN20453G025430. If you are applying for an exchange or a refund then make sure that you have the invoice as your proof of purchase ready.

Those who have purchased the above-mentioned units from an authorized Gigabyte reseller can opt for a refund or product replacement. However, those owners that acquired the power supply from a non-authorized seller, such as eBay, Craigslist, or Amazon marketplace will only be eligible for a complete replacement.

A spokesperson from Gigabyte has stated that the company has spoken with its retailer partners so the majority are participating in the refund and exchange program. However, if your retailer isn’t listed or is not offering you the return offer then you can reach out to the official Gigabyte portal. You can drop an email to powersupply@gigabyteusa.com.
