GIGABYTE Technology (TWSE: 2376) has announced the launch of its new GAMING Series power supply units (PSUs), designed to enhance safety and efficiency for high-performance gaming and creator PCs. The new lineup integrates a proprietary “T-Guard” active thermal monitoring technology aimed at safeguarding 12V-2×6 GPU power connectors.

The GAMING Series PSUs have also received Cybenetics ETA Platinum and LAMBDA A+ certifications, indicating high power efficiency and quiet operation. The units are available in 750W, 850W, and 1000W capacities.

GIGABYTE : T-Guard Technology Addresses GPU Power Connector Safety

With the increasing power demands of modern graphics cards, the stability of power connectors has become a critical concern for system safety. GIGABYTE’s T-Guard technology addresses this by embedding precision thermistors within the 12V-2×6 connector. These sensors continuously monitor connector temperatures in real time.

Should the system detect overheating, potentially caused by loose cables or abnormal loads, T-Guard is designed to trigger alerts and intelligently reduce power specifically to the GPU. This measure aims to prevent connector damage or burnout while allowing other system components to remain operational. The feature also allows users to potentially utilize integrated graphics for display, enabling them to save ongoing work before shutting down the system for inspection.

Cybenetics Certifications for Efficiency and Acoustic Performance

The GIGABYTE GAMING Series PSUs have been certified by Cybenetics for both efficiency and noise levels. The Cybenetics ETA Platinum certification signifies high energy conversion efficiency, contributing to reduced heat generation and lower operational costs.

Additionally, the series holds a Cybenetics LAMBDA A+ certification, indicating an average noise level below 20 dB(A). This quiet performance is further supported by a 135mm Fluid Dynamic Bearing (FDB) fan and HybridCool technology, which allows the fan to automatically stop under low system loads for near-silent operation. Additional Features and Specifications

The new PSUs feature a dual-color 12V-2×6 cable design, which GIGABYTE states provides a visual aid for users to ensure secure cable connections. The series complies with ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards.

Available in both Black and Ice editions, the GIGABYTE GAMING Series PSUs incorporate 100% Japanese capacitors, contributing to component longevity and stability. All units are backed by a 10-year warranty.
