Gigabyte has come up with three AORUS gaming monitors back in April, but there were not many details available at that time. Now, finally, the manufacturer has revealed the information regarding its flagship 48-inch OLED model.
The AORUS FO48U gaming monitor offers a huge diagonal size of 47.53 inches; definitely, it’s a big one in size. Though the OLED panels will come in smaller sizes, the 48 inch is still the most chosen one for those who go for OLED gaming. The monitor market is trailing behind TVs; that’s why many users choose LG CX 48 TV, which offers similar specifications but is not available with any gaming monitor.
Based on the price, the AORUS FO48U might become a perfect alternative for those users. The 10-bit panel offers a 4K resolution and 98% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage. The panel has a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and it supports the AMD FreeSync Premium. Gigabyte hasn’t listed any details on Vesa DisplayHDR support, while the official page contains. The DisplayHDR 1000 support of this monitor confirms a peak brightness of 1000 nits.
AORUS FO48U is a PC monitor which offers many features that TVs don’t. This AORUS monitor has a built-in “Dashboard” option, which shows the real-time hardware information on-screen. Gigabyte also provides details on the modes that are supported by AMD RDNA2-based console through HDMI 2.1 port. Xbox Series X offers 1080p, 1440p, and 2160p modes at 120 Hz, while the PS5 don’t support 1440p 120 Hz mode. Though there are no details of the Xbox Series S.
Gigabyte hasn’t disclosed the price and other information. We hope that the monitor will cost less than the LG CX, which looks like its direct competitor.
