A chaebol heiress who talks to ghosts. A prosecutor who’s terrified of them. Put them on the same crime scene, and you’ve got tvN’s newest occult romance — and honestly, it might be the most fun pairing of the summer.

**“Spooky in Love”** premieres tonight, and early stills already show Park Eun Bin and Yang Se Jong pulling off an oddly perfect team-up despite having zero history together.

## The Story So Far

Park Eun Bin plays Cheon Yeo Ri, a wealthy hotel heiress who gained the ability to see and hear ghosts after a near-death experience. A shaman warns her she must resolve the grudges of restless spirits to stay safe — so she spends her days granting their unfulfilled wishes, whether she likes it or not.

Enter Ma Gang Wook (Yang Se Jong), a passionate prosecutor who crosses paths with Cheon Yeo Ri at a crime scene she was led to by a ghost that’s been haunting her nightly. What starts as a chance encounter turns into an unexpectedly seamless partnership — the newly released stills show the pair chasing down armed robbers and getting into a full-blown physical altercation, coordinating like they’ve worked together for years despite just meeting.

## Why This Pairing Works

Occult romance is a well-worn genre in Korean drama, tracing its roots back to folklore-driven storytelling traditions that blend the supernatural with everyday life — a genre lineage documented on [Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_folklore). What makes “Spooky in Love” stand out is the chemistry: Park Eun Bin’s grounded, resourceful energy paired with Yang Se Jong’s intensity gives the show a spark that’s rare for a first-episode preview.

Given both actors’ track records in emotionally rich roles, expect this occult mystery to lean as much into character dynamics as it does into the supernatural crime-solving plot.
