Wijnaldum’s contract with Liverpool ends this summer, but there is still no agreement, and he may leave. Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman is a fan of the Netherlands international and wants to bring him to the Camp Nou.

With Barcelona getting a new president, Joan Laporta, their sporting project will once again rise, and he may look to invest in the players that Koeman believes in, and Wijnaldum can be one of them.

But Wijnaldum is happy at Liverpool and don’t want to leave, but there’s no agreement still, so he can definitely be lured away.

Wijnaldum told at today’s press conference before the Champions League match against RB Leipzig: “There is no news at it stands right now.”

“I would like to say I am really happy at the club, with the team, the fans and that is only thing I can say. It’s not that I am not happy and have to leave. It’s not that easy. So difficult to deal with it…”

“The situation we are in right now [my future] is not the most important thing. But only thing I can say is I am really happy here with the fans, team, staff, family is happy here. But there is no news.”

“Really difficult,” he said – when pushed on how he’d feel if he did have to leave…

“You would leave a team you really love. With a team you feel really comfortable. This will be difficult – but you will know the situation why you have to leave. But I would be devastated I cannot play with this team anymore.”

Liverpool has suffered their sixth straight home defeat for the first time in their history and may suffer to earn Champions League qualification for next season but Klopp still has Wijnaldum in his plans. So it remains to be seen where his future lies in the next season.
