Geekbench: There’s no competition to Apple A15 Bionic, Dimensity 900 far better than Snapdragon 8 Gen 1

As we head on to 2022, the battle of the flagship mobile SoCs continues to grow as people look towards new smartphones which will use these flagship chips. Well, as we know, all of these chips have already been announced, and some smartphones are already made available with these new SoCs.

Ice Universe has shared an interesting benchmark graph for all the flagship SoCs and how they perform in Geekbench. It also has the benchmarks of the latest three new Android powering chips – Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, Exynos 2200 and Dimensity 9000.

As you see, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 scores 3752 points in multi-core while scoring a mere 1231 points in single-core. On the other side, the highly waited Exynos 2200 by Samsung scores 3534 points in multi-core while scoring just 1109 points in single-core. Now, MediaTek, who was once not even in the race for premium SoCs for smartphones has made its Dimensity 9000 far ahead of the competition using TSMC’s 4nm process.

It scores a whopping 4410 points in multi-core, 17% faster than the Qualcomm flagship and scoring 1278 points in single-core, maybe not the best but faster than its Android-chip-maker competition. Coming to Apple and its latest A15 Bionic, launched at the end of last year still dominates the market with its remarkable performance.

The A15 Bionic scores 4885 points in multi-core and a whopping 1750 points in single-core, this goes to show Apple’s clear dominance in silicon manufacturing. Still, hats off to MediaTek for coming so close to the A15 Bionic’s multi-core performance, however, the single-core performance gap is huge to makeover.
