Vishnu Vishal is having a moment. His sports comedy-drama Gatta Kusthi 2 closed its opening week with a strong Rs. 25 crore gross in India, and in the process became the biggest grosser of his career, overtaking his previous best, Ratsasan, in just seven days.

## A Steady, Confident Hold

The film collected Rs. 1.85 crore on Day 7, marking only a 40% drop from its opening day — a genuinely strong hold for a regional theatrical release. That kind of steady decline usually signals healthy word-of-mouth rather than a front-loaded opening driven purely by hype.

## Gatta Kusthi 2: Day-Wise Collections

| Day | Collection |

## Where the Money Came From

Unsurprisingly, Tamil Nadu carried the bulk of the collections at Rs. 22.25 crore, with Karnataka adding Rs. 1.75 crore and the rest of India contributing around Rs. 1 crore. The film has already been declared a box office blockbuster, and industry watchers expect a further spike over the second weekend.

The sequel to the 2022 original picks up years later, with Veera as a house husband while his wife Keerthi manages her wrestling career, and the couple clashing over how to raise their daughter. That relatable family setup, paired with the wrestling backdrop, seems to be resonating strongly with audiences.
