#### Forerunner 70 — The Smart Starter

The Forerunner 70 is perfect for anyone just beginning their running journey. Its standout feature is **Quick Workouts** — a smart tool that generates tailored workout suggestions based on your fitness level with minimal setup, just pick your time and intensity. Add **Garmin Coach training plans** that adapt daily based on your recovery metrics, plus new **run/walk workout plans** for those easing into running, and you have a genuinely thoughtful training companion.

Beyond running, it taps into **80+ built-in sports apps** and tracks your health 24/7 — sleep, breathing variations, Pulse Ox, HRV status and more.

#### Forerunner 170 — For the Goal-Driven Runner

The Forerunner 170 steps things up with more structured training tools. The **Training Readiness** feature tells you exactly when your body is primed for a hard session versus when it needs rest — a game changer for avoiding overtraining. Garmin Coach plans here range from gentle beginner-level run/walk schedules all the way to high-volume plans for seasoned athletes.

The **Forerunner 170 Music** variant is the crown jewel, adding onboard music storage in fun colorways like teal green/citron and red pink/mango.

[GPS smartwatches](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GPS_watch) have evolved dramatically over the last decade — and both these models are proof that premium running tech no longer means a premium price barrier.
