Gareth Bale’s resurgence could make his Spurs loan permanent

During the winter transfer window, there was an all-round concern about Gareth Bale and his performances on the pitch. Neither Tottenham Hotspur nor Real Madrid was very pleased with the way things were going with the Welshman’s return to London. The general feeling around the situation was that something had to change for Spurs to even start to consider a permanent deal.

And Bale has realised that himself, with the forward scoring four goals and assisting three in his last four matches in all competitions. His last performance in the 4-0 win against Burnley will surely put him in contention for a place in the starting XI in Spurs’ next match against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Bale scored a brace and assisted a goal to earn himself a well-deserved man of the match award. And if this isn’t a one-time thing, we could be on the verge of a revival of the Welshman.

After securing a loan deal to his former club, Bale mostly spent time out on the bench due to a recurring injury that prevented him from playing often. He was then used mainly in the Europa League when the squad had to be rotated.

Jose Mourinho on Gareth Bale:

“He looks happier than ever, he looks confident. In training you can see he has his confidence back, the way he hits his shots… He is in the best condition since he arrived."#COYS #THFC pic.twitter.com/tS8itwOpFr

However, that seems to be on the verge of a change, and should Bale manage to keep up this form until the end of the season, Tottenham could be looking at an EFL Cup and a Europa League title as achievable objectives despite their recent inconsistencies.

Additionally, Daniel Levy and co. could also start considering an attempt to make Bale’s return to North London permanent. But concrete talks will only begin at the end of the season.
