Gareth Bale to Manchester United: Why it COULD work?

Although Gareth Bale is linked with a move away from Madrid every summer, this one seems different. In an interview with Sky Sports, the Welshman all but confirmed him wanting to leave the club. He leaned towards the idea of being unappreciated at Real, and you can’t truly blame the man for it.

The most interesting detail confirmed by the winger was the fact that Real blocked his exit last summer. Add to that the fact that he has also said that he is open to returning to the Premier League, and you have a fair share of clubs linked with him.

Here are 3 reasons why Bale would be a great signing for the Red Devils.

1. The financial angle

The thing that makes this time around different is the fact that Real are actually willing to pay 50% of his wages to send him out on loan. In addition, they are also willing to accept a rather nominal fee for his departure.

Naturally, when you have a Premier League club linked with a player, Man U are always interested. Here is where the case becomes believable despite his 600,000 Euros-per-week wages.

Manchester United need quality on the right-wing. Add to that the fact that they can afford to pay half of his wages, and you have a solid transfer story. Only this one could actually go down as a great move.

James Cooper: "When I spoke to someone this morning about Gareth Bale it wasn't 'this is nonsense, forget Gareth Bale'. He's certainly an option for #mufc but under those restrictions – a loan deal rather than a permanent deal." #mulive [sky]

2. What he brings to the team

Gareth Bale is the player that can give Ole exactly what his team needs – Quality. The Wales international has won four Champions League titles with Real Madrid and has proven his quality on the pitch time and time again.

When he wants to play, Gareth Bale is one of the best in the world. His pace, skill and accuracy on the ball make him a threat wherever he may play.

He has a great deal of experience and is still in his best years as a footballer. Moreover, he has the ability to deliver under pressure. Something that Man U need very badly.

3. The player is keen on the move

While it comes in last, in the case of Bale it is probably the most important. He has publicly admitted that he doesn’t feel appreciated at Real. That is something that could be sorted out given the passionate fans at Old Trafford.

He had impressed heavily in his time at Tottenham, and can probably do much more now than he did before.

Manchester United could be the place where Bale gets the environment that he needs to thrive and deliver world-class performances every week.
