Gareth Bale is ready to be the leader at Real Madrid

If you aren’t excited to see Gareth Bale play this season, then you aren’t a fan of the beautiful game. The Welsh Dragon passed with pinpoint accuracy. He flew down the wings like he was being chased. And bagged himself a goal in his second consecutive match.

Bale played a total of 149 minutes in Real’s three ICC matches. His two goals and one assist represented a tidy resumption of form for a player who made history in May’s Champions League final against Liverpool. Any thoughts as to his suitability for Real should have been put to rest beyond that point. A strong pre season following a summer of rest have shown him continue that game-changing form.

Real Madrid struggled with its finishing during the first match and a half of the preseason. The offense has looked much better since then, and a lot of it is thanks to Bale.

While Cristiano Ronaldo leaving for Juventus creates a massive hole in the pitch for Real Madrid. Bale is already one of the best players in the world. And he is ready to play an even bigger role this season. He showed against Roma that he can create golden opportunities for others as well as finish himself. This could lead to a productive season for the Wales national.

Positive takeaways from the pre season

One thing has remained constant through Real Madrid’s three games in the United States – controlling possession, plenty of shots on goal, and contributions from several players. The defending Champions League winners had 66 percent of the ball and took 16 total shots with seven on target. The defense, with Sergio Ramo back in the lineup, limited Eden Dzeko and the Roma attack to just two shots on target through the match.

If the rest of the elite players around Bale live up to expectations, there shouldn’t be much of a drop-off for the Champions League winners. As things look till now, Real Madrid are on the verge of having another great season.
