Bale’s agent has confirmed that he has never asked to leave Real Madrid.
Gareth Bale and Zinedine Zidane do not have a good relationship. Zidane publicly told last summer that he wanted the Welshman out of the squad. It was all set for Bale to move to China’s Jiangsu Suning last summer. But the transfer broke down at the last minute and Bale is still at Real Madrid.
Since then Zidane has given Bale another chance to prove his worth to the club. He was playing well until he was out of the team injured. But he has now returned to the club and trying to get to his peak.
After Wales’ EURO 2020 qualifier match against Hungary, Bale held out a flag written “Wales.Golf.Madrid.”, which seemed to be the priority list of his life. It created a huge controversy.
Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett told the BBC’s Euro Leagues Podcast: “It was directed only to the media because they had been writing very infantile and stupid stories from people that do not know him. The truth is he has done fantastically for Real Madrid in the years he has been there and helped them win so much.”
Barnett also said that Gareth Bale has never asked to leave Real Madrid even though he is not ecstatic at the club. He said: “He has never asked to leave.”
“He has a contract with Real Madrid and as long as they want him, there’s not much anyone can do about it. No-one has ever accused him of not giving 100 percent and a 100 percent Gareth Bale is one of the best players in the world. The coach should be happy and honoured he is on the pitch for him.”
“There’s no guarantee he is leaving. If the right opportunity came along for him and it’s something he wants to do, we have to have a chat with the president of Real Madrid and see where we are.”
“He’s not ecstatic. He has got a contract and as long as he is a Real Madrid player he will play at 100 per cent – and do very well. He wants to win the championship and the European championship and everything else. It will not affect his performance.
The facts and figures prove if he is on the field for Real Madrid they have a better chance of winning.”
Gareth Bale has won the Champions League four times with Real Madrid and has also won the LaLiga and Copa del Rey. But he needs to keep him injury-free. His whole career has been affected by various injuries.
The Real Madrid fans need to get behind their star man now to help him get to his peak form. A Real Madrid front line comprising of Hazard, Benzema and Bale can terrorize any defence in the world.
