Gareth Bale is one of Real Madrid’s most decorated players in the last 10 years. The Welshman was signed for a record transfer fee to form a devasting attacking partnership alongside Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo, famously known as the BBC.

He won five Champions Leagues, four Club World Cups, three LaLiga Santanders, and three Copa del Reys with the Spanish giants over the course of the nine years. However, Gareth Bale had a very difficult end to his chapter at Real Madrid, where he scored 106 goals and provided 67 assists in 258 games

Bale will now join MLS side Los Angeles FC until 2023 with an option for a further year.

Gareth Bale’s salary at Los Angeles FC

According to a report from the Los Angeles Times, via Marca, Bale will not be a designated player and his salary would be just over $1.6 million. He earned over $20 million at Real Madrid, so this will be a significant salary drop for Bale.

However, the 1-year deal includes a one-year contract extension until 2024. In those 12 extra months, Bale could increase his salary with LAFC or take one of the places as a franchise player.

The former Real Madrid player will be earning much less compared to other MLS stars as well. Lorenzo Insigne will earn $12.42 million per year at Toronto FC, Xherdan Shaqiri earns $8.15 million at Chicago Fire and Chicharito earns $6 million at LA Galaxy.
