Gameskraft Foundation Joins Hands with GoSports Foundation for The Para Champions Programme

The Para Champions Programme was established in 2015 by the GoSports Foundation to empower Indian para-athletes in their Paralympic journeys and create national role models. The programme provides holistic support that includes an annual scholarship, access to sports science expertise, equipment and gear, financing travel and accommodation expenses during competitions, and high-performance training for selected para-athletes in the country.

In the 2021 Tokyo Paralympics, 21 athletes supported by the Para Champions Programme accounted for 40% of the Indian contingent, and seven of them won eight medals. These athletes returned to India as national role models, inspiring others to take up para-sport.

Rishi Wadhera, Head of Corporate Communications and CSR at Gameskraft, expressed his honor to partner with the GoSports Foundation to support para-athletes from their Para Champions Programme. He added that sports require focused preparation and mental strength, and it’s their pleasure to support these champions in breaking barriers and raising India’s name worldwide.

Deepthi Bopaiah, CEO of GoSports Foundation, expressed delight in welcoming Gameskraft Foundation as an ‘Associate Partner’ to the Para Champions Programme. She believes that partnerships like this can create a more inclusive ecosystem for para-athletes and impact the perception of the persons with disabilities community in the country.
