The first round of voting is underway now until January 4, and the winning title will be revealed at The Game Awards on December 12. This is a fan-driven award and thus it is the “people’s award” — the one dedicated to the titles that hit it best with players.

Also, all-time fan-favorites from many, many genres — like Dragon Age: The Veilguard, the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, Fortnite, and Final Fantasy XIV — are in. The list features a healthy combination of new titles and well-known franchises with consistently strong followings, covering a wide range of gaming experiences.

Other big nominees include Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, Helldivers 2, Persona 3 Reload, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, Silent Hill 2, Sonic X Shadow Generations and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. The list features titles such as Genshin Impact, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, and Valorant, which have proven their longevity through regular updates and loyal player bases.

Last year’s champ was Baldur’s Gate 3, while Genshin Impact took home the award in 2022.
