Samsung’s next-generation foldable, the Galaxy Z Flip7, is making waves in the tech world, with rumors suggesting it could be the company’s first foldable powered by an Exynos chipset. According to a report from Korean outlet The Elec, the Z Flip7 is expected to feature the upcoming Exynos 2500, a flagship in-house processor that could mark a major shift in Samsung’s foldable lineup.

What We Know About the Exynos 2500

The Exynos 2500 is rumored to be built on Samsung’s second-generation SF3 3nm process, promising improved efficiency and performance. The chipset is said to feature a 10-core CPU, including a 3.3 GHz prime core, 2 big cores at 2.75 GHz, 5 big cores at 2.36 GHz, and 2 efficiency cores at 1.8 GHz. Additionally, it will include the Xclipse 950 GPU, powered by AMD’s RDNA architecture, which could deliver a significant boost in graphics performance.

While the Exynos 2500 is expected to enter mass production in early 2025, the Z Flip7 could serve as a testing ground for Samsung’s ambitious plans to reintroduce its Exynos chips into premium devices.

Samsung is reportedly aiming to produce 229.4 million smartphones in 2025, with the Z Fold7 accounting for 3 million units and the rumored Z Flip FE expected to hit 900,000 units. If the Z Flip7 does indeed debut with the Exynos 2500, it could signal Samsung’s confidence in its in-house chip technology, which has faced criticism in the past but is now poised for a comeback.
