HDR10+ will soon be supported by Samsung’s Instant Slo-Mo function. Whether support will come with the upcoming OS update or the normal software update is unknown. With HDR10+ compatibility, Samsung will improve the Instant Slo-Mo feature on the Galaxy S24. Samsung intends to enhance the Instant Slow-Mo feature and add support for HDR10+ content. The Gallery app’s integrated video editor will soon support editing of “.mov” files, according to the company.

The Galaxy S24’s instant slo-mo function is now limited to non-HDR10+ videos. But shortly, the firm will release an update to address it, so this will change. The Galaxy S24’s instant slo-mo feature will allow HDR10+ videos to be accepted thanks to the updated firmware.

According to the official moderator of the Samsung Community site, the functionality is being developed and will be available in the upcoming software update. It is unclear from their statement whether this will be included in the upcoming One UI update or the usual software update. Additionally, 480p video capability will be added in the upcoming release.

The most impressive feature of the new flagship trio of devices is the Galaxy AI editing tools. Instant Slow-Mo is the name of one of these AI-powered editing tools. It can slow down conventional videos to give the impression that they were shot in slow motion, as the name implies.

HDR10+ video support is going to come to the Instant Slo-Mo function. HDR10+ videos cannot yet be edited, saved in HDR10+ format, and used to create slow-motion videos with the Instant Slo-Mo function. Encoding a movie in SDR also results in the loss of dynamic range.

Following the upgrade, Samsung will enhance the Instant Slow-Mo functionality for Galaxy S24 series handsets by incorporating HDR10+ video capability. With this feature, you may edit and view a standard HDR10+ video using the Instant Slow-Mo and Galaxy AI features. At the moment, HDR10+ video needs to be converted into SDR quality in order to be used with Galaxy AI.

Developers are trying to add support for HDR10+, as confirmed by an official moderator of Samsung’s Korean community forum, as seen by SamMobile. Additionally, the moderator says that support will be included in the upcoming software version. They did not, however, make it clear if they were referring to the upcoming OS update or the next normal software update.
