*FROM* Season 4 just delivered its most chilling hour yet — and the town’s secrets are no longer buried. Episode 4, *“Of Myths and Monsters,”* aired May 10, 2026 on MGM+, and it answered one big question while opening three more terrifying ones. Here’s your full recap.

### FROM S4 Episode 4

| Story Thread | What Happened |
| --- | --- |
| Victor & the Yellow Suit | Revealed the Man in Yellow has been eating residents since the last cycle |
| Sophia & Sara | Sophia plants voices in Sara’s head as a manipulation test |
| Julie’s Storywalking | Walks into a past massacre — the Man in Yellow is feasting on the dead |
| Ethan & the Lake | Discovers a mysterious lake; a rope pulled from the ground brings something to the surface |
| Boyd | Still haunted by Abby’s death; confesses the town is losing the fight |

### Victor’s Bombshell: He’s Known All Along

The episode’s biggest gut-punch came from Victor. Victor knows about the Man in Yellow — he had just convinced himself over the years that it wasn’t real. The Man in Yellow arrived in town years before, just like everyone else. But unlike everyone else, he kills people and eats their insides. Victor even has a drawing of the Man in Yellow eating Miranda’s insides by the Bottle Tree — Henry goes into shock at the revelation.

The mere sight of the yellow suit caused Victor to wet himself with terror before fleeing — a reaction that now makes horrible, complete sense. [Ready Steady Cut](https://readysteadycut.com/2026/05/10/from-season-4-episode-4-recap/)

### Sophia’s Mind Games With Sara

Sophia, the Man in Yellow disguised as a Christ-loving teen, puts her new roommate Sara through a series of tests to measure how easily she can be manipulated. She compels Sara via planted voices to visit the diner and perform a small, meaningless task involving a cup of water — simply to see if Sara will obey. In the Man in Yellow’s twisted view, Sara’s real test was never whether she’d carry out the act, but whether she was even willing. Sara now feels guilty — exactly as Sophia intended. ### Julie Storywalks Into a Massacre

Julie travels back to the day the entire town was massacred, when Victor was the only survivor. She finds herself standing on a street covered in dead bodies and spots the Man in Yellow eating one of them. She tries to draw a symbol as a bookmark but drops the paper. When Randall yanks her back to the present, the paper in her pocket is completely blank.

### The Lake Ending Explained

The episode culminates at a newly discovered lake. One of Donna’s crewmates spots a massive rope hidden in the ground — when tugged, the water starts bubbling and something breaks the surface. The silhouette is the same form as a human body.

The leading theory? People who believed the lake had healing powers tied themselves to that rope, dove in looking for an exit route — and never came back. Whether the lake is truly the Lake of Tears Jim mentioned remains unanswered. [DM Talkies](https://dmtalkies.com/from-season-4-episode-4-recap-2026/)

### FAQs

### **Q: Is Sophia actually the Man in Yellow in *FROM* Season 4?**

All signs point to yes — Sophia is either a direct manifestation or vessel of the Man in Yellow, using religious manipulation and planted voices to quietly control the township from the inside.

### **Q: What is the Lake of Tears in *FROM* Season 4?**

Jim’s ghost directed Ethan to find it, believing it holds answers to escaping the town — but the lake discovered in Episode 4 appears to hide something far darker: the submerged remains of those who searched before them.
