### What Happened in Episode 2 (Quick Recap)?

If you need a refresher before Episode 3: Jim’s fate was revealed in Episode 2, with his body left hanging upside down for the kids to find — with the message “Knowledge Comes at a Cost” left behind. Meanwhile, Ethan snuck out to the family RV and encountered what appeared to be Jim’s spirit, who instructed him to find the mysterious **Lake of Tears**. Julie is exploring her time-walking abilities through the arches with Randall’s help. Boyd crossed a moral line by pressuring Elgin to stay silent. And Sophia — confirmed as the Man in Yellow — continued her chilling long game inside the township, faking grief while secretly orchestrating events.

### What to Expect in Episode 3?

The official synopsis for Episode 3 reads: “Boyd tries to save Acosta from herself as Julie digs deeper into her newfound abilities; Tabitha embarks on a desperate gamble and Victor joins Ethan in a quest for answers.”

That’s an intriguing combination — Boyd’s increasingly cold pragmatism bumping up against Acosta’s self-destructive spiral, while the Matthews children move closer to the heart of the town’s mysteries. Victor joining Ethan is particularly exciting: his decades of trapped experience and Ethan’s apparent supernatural connection to the town could prove to be a genuinely powerful alliance.

Ethan’s meeting with Jim and the quest for the Lake of Tears has led to a possible vital puzzle piece, and Episode 3 is anticipated to continue from where these events left off in the search for answers amidst grief.
