Frank Lampard has been announced as the latest inductee in the Premier League Hall of Fame. Widely hailed by many football fans as the greatest midfielder to ever play the sport in England, Lampard has represented West Ham United, Chelsea and Manchester City in his illustrious career.
Lampard made 609 appearances in the Premier League, playing for the three clubs. He has scored 177 goals during his career and is Chelsea’s highest ever goalscorer. While the Premier League only takes into account the stats and performances in the league, Lampard scored 211 goals across all competitions for Chelsea.
With Chelsea, the legendary midfielder won the Premier League three times and also won the Champions League in 2012. He was also named the Player of the Year for Chelsea’s title-winning 2004/05 season, and he went on to captain the club on various occasions as well.
The player started his career at West Ham United in 1995, before making the move across London for £11 million. Lampard is also the fourth-highest assisting player in the Premier League, racking up 102 assists in the league throughout his time in the country.
Lampard joins Alan Shearer, Thierry Henry, Eric Cantona and Roy Keane.
